About Humphreys County Criminal History

Humphreys County criminal records are divided among offices in Waverly and statewide Tennessee systems. The sheriff and jail hold booking and incident material, the Circuit Court Clerk maintains General Sessions and Circuit case files, and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation operates both TORIS and the Tennessee Sex Offender Registry. This private reference site brings those official routes together so readers can identify the proper custodian, understand what each record can show, and avoid mistaking an arrest entry for a court disposition.

Why We Built This Site

Tennessee records do not sit in one universal database. In Humphreys County, the Sheriff's Office is the local source for sheriff incident reports, booking records, jail custody, and locally held warrant information. The Circuit Court Clerk in Room 106 of the Humphreys County Courthouse keeps General Sessions and Circuit criminal files. Statewide records may instead come from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, the Tennessee Department of Correction, or the Tennessee Sex Offender Registry. We built this site to clarify those boundaries and collect the verified public portals, request routes, fees, and contact details in one reference.

What You Will Find Here

  • Agency contacts: verified routes to the Humphreys County Sheriff's Office, Circuit Court Clerk, and statewide Tennessee record systems
  • Official check walkthroughs: how Tennessee name checks through TORIS differ from authorized fingerprint checks through TAPS
  • Record guides: how criminal court case records are located and interpreted in Humphreys County
  • Record cleanup help: where a person begins a Tennessee expungement request and why the originating court matters

What We Cannot Do

This is a privately operated reference site, with no affiliation to a Tennessee court, police department, sheriff's office, or state agency. Its role has clear limits:

  • We cannot issue certified court files, criminal records, or repository results
  • We cannot submit a public-records request, expungement petition, or other filing for a visitor
  • We cannot perform an official background check or retrieve a person's record
  • We cannot interpret a charge or case as legal advice
  • We cannot promise that an office's address, fee, phone number, or procedure has not changed

An official copy must come from its custodian, such as the Humphreys County Sheriff's Office, the originating court, or the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. This site can identify that office but cannot issue the record.
